Initial Meeting
This is a chance for us to get to know your ideas, needs, and what you hope to achieve with your project. We'll talk about your plans, timeline, budget, and any important details.

Week 1
Project Brief
Together we develop a project brief with your budget in mind. The more we learn during this stage, the better we can make decisions and solve problems along the way.

Week 1–2
Site Visit
Visiting the site helps assess topography, sun path, views, existing services, and potential obstacles or opportunities that will shape the design.

Feasibility Study
We assess site-specific requirements — resource consent, soil testing, surveying, and any specific engineering needs that could affect your project.

~2.5 weeks
Concept Proposal
You'll receive an initial concept based on the design brief and site visit. We tend to push the brief and site further to explore options discovered in the design process.

2 days – 2 weeks
Concept Variations
With your feedback and the builder's input, we refine the design. There are commonly 2–3 concept revisions included; additional variations incur extra fees.

2–6 weeks
Pricing Plans
We develop structural plans showing plumbing, electrical, bracing, and framing. This allows contractors to give accurate quotes on building your project.

Builder TBC
Approved Pricing Plans
Ensuring the project will be on budget and fits the brief. With the builder's early input we can steer the project in the right direction.

Developed Council Plans
Before submission to council, we ensure all requirements are fulfilled from other professionals — geotech reports, engineering, truss design, and more.

Council Submission
Once pricing plans are approved, Ibex Design details the plans for council submission. We handle the documentation and liaison with the authority.

Up to 20 working days
Consented Plans
Once plans are approved by council, it's time to start building. Council is allowed up to 20 working days to consent plans.

Ongoing
Construction Start
We stay involved throughout construction to help out and make sure everyone is on the same page. If on-site changes aren't consistent with plans, council amendments may be required.
